LEGO LAS VEGAS SKYLINE SET REVEALED

According to a Brickset article, LEGO set 21038 may be available soon!  Although it was thought to be delayed or possibly cancelled due to an incident at one of the buildings depicted, it’s good to see that we’ll still be treated to another skyline set some time this year.

From the look of it, the set seems to feature some new colors as well as a printed “Welcome to Las Vegas” tile and a minifigure pharaoh’s headpiece.

Interesting! (I hesitate to use the word ‘cool’ though). I may have missed this, but I have never seen it discussed in terms of the official Architecture sets. At what point does an iconic building cease to be intellectual property? I ask this with special regard for the Vegas buildings which are all doubtlessly heavily branded and trademarked, even moreso than other landmarks. I’d appreciate reading an article explaining that!

“Vegas buildings are heavily branded and trademarked”? Hahahaha. Las Vegas have numerous buildings that are copied from all over the world, but possibly concerned by trademarking their hotels and casino buildings? Irony…
